Howler Gourmet Products LLC is a family business based in Mid-Missouri and founded in 2024. My name is Ryan Dotson and Howler is my baby. I started working in restaurants as a dishwasher when I was 14 and quickly moved up to eventually work in every position in the restaurant business. I left the food service industry in my early 20’s and focused more on a sales and management career.

When Covid hit, the recruiting firm I had built started to struggle as advertising costs continued to skyrocket. To help pay the bills, I started smoking pork butts and selling pulled pork by the pound online to local consumers. This was how I developed many of the flavors that we have available today.

In the spring of 2024, I attended a local festival that featured several BBQ food trucks and vendors. One of them was serving some of the best smoked meats I had tasted in the area. However, they were selling it with a generic grocery store sauce that was really bringing down the flavor. I decided to message the owner and explain how much better his meats would be with my sauce. He tried a sample, agreed to start using it and selling it for us, and the rest is history.
